Standards News - January/February 2020

Category: AINDT News

Comments on the adoption of the ISO Standards closed on the 19th of December 2019, and it is unknown at this point if any comments were made against the proposals. With the comment ballots just closing, there isn’t a lot to report until we receive feedback from Standards Australia.

2019 was an eventful year for NDT Standards continuing on from the past year with ISO adoptions and reviewing of many other Australian Standards, which will carry on to mid–2020.

In addition, a number of other Standards Committees such as the welding and pressure equipment have also contacted MT007 with a view of including the adopted NDT Standards into their own Standards if adoption ballot was successful.

Proposals for Australian ISO Committee Representatives have also been formally submitted to Standards Australia so that we can have our own representatives on the ISO Standard Committees. No feedback has been received on these proposals and hopefully this will be ratified early this year.

Recently, there has been significant interest and  questions coming from New Zealand, which is greatly welcomed. In saying this, if you have any queries regarding Australian Standards, ISO Standards or other Standards, please email me at [email protected] and I am always pleased to respond.
