AINDT Victorian Welding Technical Night

Category: AINDT News

AINDT Victorian Technical Night was held on Thursday 9th May 2019 at the Golden Gate Hotel in South Melbourne. The presentation on Weld Defect - Causes, Avoidance and Methods of Detection, was specifically focused on arc welding, with detailed descriptions, diagrams and photos of weld defect types, how to detect them and more importantly how to avoid them. The topic was presented by industry expert Jaswinder Rai, who was able to engage with the audience and answer lots of great questions which followed over into the networking event where he was able to talk further with attendees.

The format of the evening was well put together, and Jaswinder’s presentation was delivered in line with the allocated timeframe, and included sharing his knowledge as an experienced Welder, Welding Supervisor & NDT Inspector. A special thanks to Jaswinder Rai for putting such an impressive presentation together that connected with the audience, and was very well received.

It was also positive to see increased attendance numbers over that of previous Technical Nights in large part due to the marketing support from Anton Milne in the AINDT Federal office.

On behalf of the AINDT Victorian Branch and our Branch President, Glen Haberl, we thank all who attended the event, and for providing such positive feedback onto the Federal office. We strive to deliver great content at Technical Nights for our members, and we are always open to suggestions for future events.
