A Vic Branch Technical Evening was held at Olympus in Melbourne on Thursday 14th February attended by a small group of interested members. Richard Nowak from Olympus presented an innovative solution to get phased array corrosion scans from pipe elbows. The solution uses recently developed flexible phased array probes, 3D printed adapters and HydroFORM-like water box to be able to scan quickly around the pipe at the bend, covering the whole area in one inspection. Andrew Saliba of Olympus demonstrated on a pipe bend just how simple the scanning process was, and how easy to change pipe diameters.
