Members of the AINDT Condition Monitoring Certification Board attended the AIRAH

Members of the AINDT Condition Monitoring Certification Board attended the AIRAH (Australian Institute of Refrigeration, Air conditioning and Heating) Building Physics Forum held at the University of Wollongong on Thursday 22 & Friday 23 of November 2018. AUSPTA were supporters of the event by providing the workshop presentations.

The event was attended by over 100 delegates on both days. The speakers and presentations throughout both days were informative and of a high standard and many of them entertaining. Keynote addresses included Professor Hartwig M Kunzel from the Fraunhofer Institute for Building Physics (Germany) who presented on ‘Building envelope science: Health, durability, energy and fire safety; Terry Brennan from Camroden Associates (USA) presented ‘Getting a Good  Commercial Building Enclosure’; and one of the invited speakers on the day was Dr Heike Neumeister-Kemp from Mycolab and Mycotec discussed the ‘Mould Within the Building Envelope…or When Moisture Protection Goes Wrong’.

Over the two (2) days, there were workshops held, including IRT which allowed attendees the opportunity to have a hands on experience using a range of Thermal Cameras available in the market today. Erik Thorup, Shawn Moore and Daniel Campbell conducted the workshops with promotion of the need for Certification of Thermography personal. The benefits of Certification and Membership of the AINDT were presented as part the workshops.

There was a total of twenty five (25) participants at the IRT workshops over both days, which involved both theory background and practical demonstrations of the uses of IRT in the Civil and Building Industries and also an overview of Thermal Imaging general practices.
